The Kansas Real Estate Commission (KREC) requires you take 12 hours of
continuing education every two years to renew your broker or salesperson's real
estate license.
If you are a broker, you are required to take six hours of core and six hours of
elective courses. The core courses are a Required Broker Core and a Required
Salesperson & Broker Core.
If you are a salesperson, you are required to take a three hour core course,
Required Salesperson & Broker Core, and nine hours of elective courses.
Staggered Renewal Schedule
License expiration dates are staggered over a two-year period, with a different
group of the alphabet expiring every other month. Education and the renewal of
your license are due on the last day of the month immediately preceding the
license expiration date. The KREC Renewal Schedule broken down by the first letter of

Practice of Real Estate
CLASSROOM - The cost for three hours of CE is $30, six hours is $60, nine
hours is $90 and 12 hours is $105. For classroom courses, there is no
requirement to pass a final exam. Please let us know if you would like the
elective courses to apply toward Missouri continuing education credit.

ON-LINE - The cost for three hours of CE is $25, six hours is $50, nine hours is
$75 and 12 hours is $85. For each on-line course, the licensee must pass a final
exam to get a completion certificate. When you have completed all of your
courses we will provide you with a completion certificate. Please let us know
if you would like the elective courses to apply toward Missouri continuing education
